Until I met Rich Hume I thought it wasn’t possible to find an instrument repair specialist outside London. Rich is a first class repairman. Importantly he is also a fine saxophone and flute player, so knows how those low notes and high harmonics need to sound. So if you need to hit those high Michael Brecker notes or get the low subtones of Ben Webster, you know they are going to respond perfectly and beautifully in tune. Richard Hume is a musician and instrument repairer with over 20 years experience working with woodwind and brass instruments.

After studying woodwind repair and clarinet making at Newark college, he went on to work at Toot-Sweet in Nottingham. The shop specialized in vintage saxophones and worked with many top professional musicians including Courtney Pine, Tony Kofi and Julian Siegal. Richard went on to own the shop and ran it for 10 years before relocating to Cornwall.

As a musician Richard has worked with various bands and theatre companies including: Horse and Bamboo, Wildworks, Bombrassa and The Underbelly.

He currently plays saxophone and flute with Love Gap (Funky Pop) and Amigos Del Ritmo (Latin). Both Bands are available for bookings.
